Movies you'd recommend watching. Empty Movies you'd recommend watching.

Post by tbear Mon Aug 25, 2008 9:22 am

Besides playing zu i also watch movies during my restdays (read: when i don't have school, and/or when i don't have money) What i'd like from u guys is to recommend movies for me to watch. it doesn't necessarily have to be new. I'll watch it even if not's in english (but only if i find english subtitles for it) as long as its interesting enough. Smile

Note:

1) do not recommend movies that you haven't seen yourself
2) if you're going to attach screenies make sure that you've resized it to 640X480.

I'll start:

Movies you'd recommend watching. 19353pngnb5

Title: Battle Royale (Batoru rowaiaru )
Country of origin: Japan
Year released: 2000
Genre: Action | Drama | Horror | Mystery | Sci-Fi | Thriller

Plot: (from imdb) Forty-two delinquent students, three days, one deserted Island: welcome to Battle Royale. A group of delinquent students from a Japanese high school have been forced by legislation to compete in a new forum of reality television. The students are each given a bag with a randomly selected weapon and a few rations of food and water and sent off to kill each other in a no-holds-barred (with a few minor rules) game to the death, which means that the students have three days to kill each other until one survives--or they all die. The movie focus on a few of the students and how they cope. Some decide to play the game like the psychotic Kiriyama or the sexual Mistuko, while others like the heroes of the movie--Shuya, Noriko, and Kawada--are trying to find a way to get off the Island without violence. However, as the numbers dwell down lower and lower on an hourly basis, is there any way for Shuya and classmates to survive?

personal comment: A very very violent movie with cheap special effects and mediocre acting. But even with its shortcomings, this movie is nevertheless, fun to watch. The concept of students killing each other to survive is what piqued my interest. Squeamish people need not apply!
side comment: the psycho-b1tch is kinda hot lol

My personal rating 4.0/5.0 Very Happy

Oh i've heard about Battle Royale, never got around to watching it though.

Well i'll recommend Transformers, even though I know you've seen it, but since Rhio is in it, I just had to recommend it ;D.

I was told to add something here so i guess i better Very Happy Keep in mind my favorite type of movies are B movies. Don't care what genre they fall under B movies are fun and hokey. Though my favorite genre's are horror, fantasy, sci-fi, manga, the typical ones that most gamers are into lol.

The Rock Horror Picture Show---I noticed alot of people have never seen it. Its a true cult classic with very young susan sarandon. tim curry, meatloaf and a few other familiar faces.

and movies from any of the following actors i will watch

Jackie Chan--loved him before the US ever knew he exsisted

Will Smith--like he says in MIB...He makes it look good lol

Vin Diseal--He plays his characters with a feeling of reality to them

Micheal Pfier--She made one awesome catwoman

Gena Davis--She just totally rocks. from Earth Girls are Easy to now

Sigourny Weaver--The first real action female in my books. And the whole psychological aspects of the Alien movies is discussion all on its own

Ok thats enough for now. I fullfilled my promise and added to the thread Very Happy

Yeah that one where he was on TV and didn't know it. Really odd I agree. If you want to see Jim in his earliest movies check out Earth Girls are Easy...He is the blue Alien and check out Once Bitten which is a vampire comedy where this female Vamp is trying to get him because hes a virgin. they are both great 80s movies. those two movies also have a number of familiar who went to be just as famous as Jim.

His movie Me, Myself and Irene was filmed in my home state not to far from where I lived it was really kewl to watch. but man our town like grew a whole second population with all the production stuff around.

I like adam sandlers movies .... there are many like, Longest yard, 50 first dates, anger management etc etc....

Also kal penn movies like van wilder (part I and II), harold and kumar (I and II) and many more Razz

Somehow I prefer comedy more than serious plots ..... though I like serious plots also like fight club, butterfly effect and many more ...

So I give you variety here ... tell me what you think bout my movie choice Smile
